Dans une déclaration médiatique faite ce dimanche 16 novembre 2025, le porte-parole de l’armée en Ituri, le lieutenant Jules Ngongo, a lancé un appel à l’unité aux 21 communautés de la province, tout en alertant sur la possible création d’un nouveau groupe armé dénommé Convention de la Révolution Populaire de l’Ituri (CRPI), qui serait initié par Thomas Lubanga à la suite de l’échec du mouvement CRP.

Le lieutenant Ngongo a également exhorté les populations à se rassembler autour de la paix et du développement, en rejetant toute tentative de division.
« La CRP est l’affaire de Thomas Lubanga seul. J’appelle toutes les communautés à s’en désolidariser et à faire preuve de vigilance. Soutenons les institutions de la République. N’acceptons pas qu’un individu, qui a voulu signer des accords avec des étrangers, finisse par détruire et coloniser les Ituriens », a-t-il renchéri.
Pour rappel, les Forces armées de la République démocratique du Congo (FARDC) ont systématiquement fait obstruction aux tentatives de la milice CRP, dirigée par Thomas Lubanga, qui cherchait à perturber l’élan de développement amorcé dans la province. Les FARDC réaffirment leur détermination à restaurer la paix sur l’ensemble du territoire iturien.
