Les élèves de l’école primaire Djomudjo, située dans le groupement Bamuko, chefferie de Walendu Bindi, territoire d’Irumu en Ituri, rencontrent de grandes difficultés pour poursuivre leur scolarité. Leur établissement a été entièrement ravagé par un feu de brousse d’origine inconnue, il y a environ une semaine.
Vendredi 28 novembre, à Gety État, Djaringa Lubanga Mbitsu Gabriel, membre du comité de soutien au développement de cette école, a confirmé que l’incendie a réduit en cendres les bâtiments et le matériel scolaire. Il a lancé un appel pressant à l’aide : « Que les autorités et les personnes de bonne volonté nous viennent en aide pour sauver l’éducation de ces enfants qui est en péril. »
Selon lui, les élèves sont contraints d’étudier dans des conditions précaires, exposés aux intempéries, faute d’infrastructures adéquates.
Il convient de rappeler que plusieurs écoles et habitations de cette région du territoire d’Irumu ont été détruites depuis le début de l’année à la suite de catastrophes naturelles, notamment des incendies de brousse.
